If you just look at the headlines you will really start to think the world is coming to an end. We recommend that you do your best to limit how much media you are consuming less than 30 minutes a day. This dosage will allow you to stay informed while protecting you from distraction. 

If you absolutely cannot resist checking in more often, try to keep a little bit of perspective around what you learn. There are a lot of things going in the right direction too, and plenty of room for hope!

This is something that you should have been doing anyway, but during times like these, it is a great skill to master! Mapping out the direction you would like to take your life in is one of the few things that you actually do have control over. Keep your mind and body busy and you will be able to channel that fear into something positive. Take breaks during work time to stretch, do a few push-ups, meditate, take a walk or even call an old friend for a few minutes. These activities will help prevent burnout…

Stay Positive

There is a fine line between optimism and delusion! Finding the right balance is key. Even in the face of something as disruptive as this, you have to see opportunity and hope for better days to come. Positivity can affect your productivity in many ways. For example, if you are hopeful, optimistic, and positive about the future, you will work with the intention to capitalize on whatever situation is presented to you.

On the other side, if you see this situation as the end, the “straw that breaks the camel’s back” so they say, then chances are, you will not be very motivated to keep pushing forward. You can control your reaction to the obstacles that you are presented with!
